Shipping your belongings between islands
I know people were interested in finding out how much it is to shift belongings between islands. Well we've had some quotes and finally made a decision.
As I've mentioned on here we're leaving Auckland and moving to Dunedin. We've been in Auckland nearly a year but it's time to leave.
When we moved our belongings here from the UK it cost us 1700 pounds, which I thought was a great price. We've had 3 quotes to shift a similar amount down south and I've managed to haggle one of them down to $3000.
Depending who you go with changes on how the stuff gets their, one of em moves the things all the way in a van, the other used rail or ship. Shipping is the cheapest but takes a bit longer.
Our stuff was estimated to be around 20 m3.
