Thanks for your time julie :-) We are on the North Shore and are loving it here and like you can't believe we are here. There is just the 2 of us and our 2 cats. We came out on a work permit, which route did you take? OH works in the CBD as a Senior Developer in IT and I'm a housewife at present. I have met friends too but no Kiwi ones yet! Don't know if you are the same but because its early spring and summer is around the corner, Christmas does not feel like its next month!! Seeing BBQs, garden furniture, summer clothes etc is something we have to get used to but we are looking forward to it. Hope you are settling in well and the kids are enjoying it too. |

Hubby was just short of the points to do WTR so we have a work permit for 3 years and like you hope that we get to do our PR. He is eligible under the skilled migrant route but we have to wait until 1st September next year before we can apply. We also had to live where hubby's job is. We came out in July for 2 weeks for hubby to have interviews and we fell in love with the North Shore. He also had a job offer in Wellington but liked the Auckland job better and he is loving it. We are renting so we want to move around until we find where to settle. |

We are from Scotland, well I am from Erskine, wife from Newlands moved here 3yrs ago and found it very hard to settle, PM me and we can have a chat call us and pop round. Andy |

Emirates are excellent aren't they, and yes its a long long flight. I guess its much easier making friends when you have kids but I hope to make some Kiwi friends soon.
