Rights as Tennants
Does anybody know what the law is and where I could possibly find an outline of it on the internet with regards to tennants rights in New Zealand?
Just curious to be honest, as I always knew where I stood in the UK when renting a property, but completely hazy now, and the OH is useless on this matter, even though he has been here 23 years....he is a very laid back Kiwi now!

A couple of websites to get you started:
Government site:
http://www.dbh.govt.nz/tenancy-index
Trademe's information - apart from the dead links there is a little bit of good 'plain english' help.

Didn't even notice it! And it is correct if the Tennant is also a Dr...Who.

Call 0800 TENANCY
Excellent service, as per the internet. Review the residential Tenancies Act which I should highly recommend every tenant reads and knows. Although there is some good structure to the law here, its often abused because people don't know their rights.
Good luck!
