I would say scoping out the schools and such like are a little premature, your first hurdle is to secure a job offer and any chances of doing that currently will be incredibly difficult.
You don't need to pay an agent money for old rope, all that you need is available on here or on NZ Immigration website; however things aren't quite like they used to be, so it is hard to advise but unlikely anyone here can assist you with finding a job. In the current climate and enduring Covid situation around the world, I suspect there will be a very long queue of folks searching for jobs and hoping to find a bolt hole in NZ. To be blunt, unless you are in a very specialised role, for which there is an immediate and obvious shortage with no suitably qualified candidates being already located in NZ, then any chances of securing a job from overseas is incredibly remote.

finding schools is going to be a personal thing. You may find that the area you move to may only have one option for schooling but that school is not to your standards so that area would be ruled out. As others have said your first concern would be getting a job offer and then seeing if immigration will give you a visa that would allow the whole family to come over to live, work and be schooled.
