Recce Plans
Hi every one,
We have had zero house viewings since our house went on the market 4 months ago. We will now probably validate our visas in November 2012.
We can stretch the vist to a duration of 4 - 6 weeks. Originally we were set on Christchurch but since the quakes we have looked a Wellington.
I do not want to discount any area and we are open to any suggestions based on the experiences and expectations of others on the site. Ideally we will have one week based at four seperate areas .
We are also sending of four our blue stickers and paying the migrant levy on Friday 27th- Pay day at last !!!!
Love to hear from you

Hi Gingerdingo,
Looks like the housing market remains flat in the UK, hopefully it will pick up in the Spring . Very frustrating for you.
It will be great to get your blue stickers, I bet you won't be able to stop looking at them for a few days .
What has made you decide to focus on Wellington? People who live down there seem to like it & I'm sure they will be able to give you lots of info.
Other areas you could look at are the Bay of Plenty area, again a good few of our posters live there & rave about it.
We live on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, 40km from Auckland (by road) & 20km as the crow flies. We love living here, OH works in the CBD & either drives into work or catches the ferry from Gulf Harbour.
The traffic is an issue in Auckland but TBH if you've done the Markeaton roundabout, it's not too different to that IMHO .
Of course, where you live will usually be dependent on where you are working.
Depends what you're looking for in terms of lifestyle. Your children might find it a bit boring living where we do.
Good luck

South Island is beautiful. If you can take the time out to visit Milford Sound, do. It is truly awesome.
