Pal of mine felt it in the Wellington area.

Hope everyone else is fine .

Yeah, it created waves on the surface of my tea as I sat in a café feeling the building sway. No one else in the café seemed to notice. The light fittings didn't swing or move in any way. However, I did feel a little bit 'sea sick' feeling the building sway and roll.

Did anyone drop, cover, hold ? No ? Thought not.

Easily the biggest Ive felt in Wellington in 10 years or so. It was a very shallow earthquake, the office was rocking and rolling like no tomorrow

It seems everyone around me felt this quake. We have a building site on the go at the bottom of our section so I assume that what I thought was the diggers dropping their buckets was a quake.

There was a pre-quake and it is reported aftershocks will continue for 24 hrs.

I think Catcha's grapes are safely bottled. Let's hope his bottles are safe.

Report HERE
