The quickest, most direct flight to NZ IS?
Ok guys i have a two week job hunt trip planned in the south island (Ch-Church, dunedin area) in Feb-March 08. Idont want to waste time on flying time. Could you give me suggestions on who to use, direct flying times etc. Could i keep the cost down by booking last minute? Oh and i'l be flying out from London.

Some longhaul flights may fly direct into Christchurch, but not sure how many or how often.
Singapore and Cathay Pacific fly from london to auckland with only one stopover, others may do the same but many also connect through australia.
no matter what you do prepare on 24+ hours from the time you get off the ground in london till you touch down in NZ....

As far as I know, only Singapore Airlines go direct to Christchurch.

Emirates fly into Christchurch from Sydney, but not sure it's the quickest route.

London - LA - Auckland - Christchurch (Air NZ or any Americian Airline)

Coming to Christchurch usually means a stop at Sydney or Auckland.
We were only two hours layover in LA, two hours at Sydney. You are only looking at a few extra hours. I know it is a bother, but beats the 84 days in the steerage section of a clipper ship from Manchester to Christchurch.

There is a direct flight on Singapore Airlines from LHR-SIN-CHC it is the most direct flight to Christchurch. SQ319/SQ297 takes about 27hrs with a 4 hour layover in Singapore.

23:40 is your Quickest flight time which is LHR-SIN-CHC (SQ 231, SQ297)
The only other 1 stop is LHR-NRT-CHC which is 26:00 (JL402, NZ090)

now we've sold the house, providing we can get it under contract asap,I'm also out to ChCh & Tauranga in Feb-March 08. If I find any cheap flights I'll let you know.
