A Quick Quiz
Hi, it's a while since I've been on here. Just a quick background- I'm actually a Kiwi, lived in the UK for six years, and came back to New Zealand with my British partner at the end of 2017. A few months ago, I started doing a Te Reo Maori course at AUT. Every now and again, I get my partner to test me on some of the vocabulary I have learnt. I thought it might be a good idea to see how many Maori words and expressions, some of you have picked up over the years or just fairly recently. If you don't want to do it, no problem- but I thought if you do want to have a go, just give the rest of us an idea of your total. Here we go :-)

Surprisingly , pretty much all of them. Been here 15 years & most of those words are common & in everyday use one way or another.

Re: A Quick Quiz
Kia ora koutou - I did have to stop and think about a few of them but the only one I had to look up was taiaha.
I know a lot of words but still can't manage to construct a sentence. It is Te Wiki o te Reo Maori next week, so no doubt we will be hearing a few more.

Re: A Quick Quiz
I know 15 of them, 16 if you count Marae being on the list twice
