Yes it's a fungi and I can find loads of them locally ... free food and very tasty too

House plans are still in with the council, test holes for the septic have been carried out and engineers plans and that's in with the council too and main power are putting in the power, water, and telephone lines on monday.
The bricks have been choosen and the roof, window and door colours and I have to arrange to choose kitchen ware next week so it's all going along fine so far

Cool I supose you have to know what you are looking for though, some stuff like that can be a bit dodgy to eat cant it? Mind you, I seem to have an iron stomach, on holiday we ate loads of prawns and when I asked hubs why he wasn't having any he whispered, 'they've been sittting in a plastic bag in the fridge for 4 days now, I dont think they're edible!' We were at his sisters apartment and he thinks her food habits are questionable, as in, how long she will keep things after sell by date. Happy to see me eat them though!

exciting stuff on the house. I would love to do that one day, choose everything right from scratch. I bet you cant wait to get into it!

Too cool sky! I've not had wild fungi since I lived in France. There, you pick them with gloves on, pop them in a bag, and take them to your local pharmacy, and they can tell you if they're edible or not.

That's great about your house! We got our house new when someone else's mortgage fell through. They had *nearly* everything we wanted. There's a distinct lack of centre-of-ceiling lighting in the US, though, really bizarre!

Yes the kiwi built houses seem to favour downlights more than central ceiling roses now. We have a choice so are having downlights only in the kitchen and bathroom areas

Now that sounds like a really good idea, have egg and bacon in so just have to go find more puffballs now

Be careful. Some forms of wild fungi can be dangerous. Anyone considering picking them should make themselves familiar with the local species. There should be books or a govt website with info available.
