Hi, well the kids have been on half term so we took off to Hanmer Springs for the day, took us 1hr 45 to get there, it was 2 degrees and snow was thick on the mountains. When we got there, the thermal pools were registering 41 degrees and were boiling, we all had a great day, the sun was shining and it felt like summer (though a bit cold from pool to pool). When we got home my hubby who is sporting the typical Scottish colour of blue/white, found he now has sun burn all over!!!!

Anyway, thought I would share a couple of photos.

Yeh they have finished, they were doing just a little of ground work when we were there, but it was all great.

Excellent - another great reason to visit the South Island. Have it on my list of things to do.

Hanmer Springs in Canterbury, it where they have a hot water spring spa - brilliant.

Looks great.... holidays here too and we have all been ill so yeah its been great.... NOT! lol What lovely scenery!!

Glad you have posted this as we were talking about our visit to the South Island in Sept last night, and Hanmer Springs was one of the places we thought about visiting as we are flying in to Christchurch, looks heavenly on a cold day.

we went to Hamner Springs last late Autumn, it was absolutely lovely. We chose to go at night so we could lounge around in the springs and look at the stars, it was also lovely and quiet then
