Re: Pets in NZ - Advice now required!
oh deary me
some of this thread made me chuckle and some made me mad!
my two cats were rescue cats, just moggies - one is about 16years we reckon and one is about 8 years old but we arent sure.
there was no question whether we would bring them over- they are part of the family and struck gold with us.
we also brought over our 2 dogs and everyone thought we were mad becaus it was bloody expensive !
all i say is- if they are part of your family then bring them over- none of ours were that stressed after the journey - i think it was worse for us knowing they were in the hold and if htey were ok.
seriously they will love it- our oldest cat is now more like a kitten and loves the sun and races around the palce were as in the uk she had really slowed down and limped!
hope you get it all sorted out.

Don't worry about it being stressful on the plane either - just plop a few generous drops of Rescue Remedy in the carriers before you leave them and they will have a calm flight. Then save a few drops for yourself and off you go!

If you can afford to take them with you, I personally think you should. Like others have said, they're your cats and it's your life and you seem very attached to them From what I've been reading, pets seem to do quite well on planes most of the time
