If not how long can we put the return flight back to?

We arrived on temp work visas and only booked one way tickets. What we couldn't get was extra baggage allowance.

We also came out with one way tickets on a temporary work permit, not sure about student visas though.

great news.
That would cut our flight cost down from 3500 to 2200 for 2 adults and 2 children.
Cheers for your fast answers.
Can happily go to bed now...

when we came it was on
1 x work visa with stipulated employer
1 x opn work visa
1x student visa (for the eldest son)
1 x visitor's visa (youngest son)

BUT they all said "Funds Waived" "Outward Passage Waived" on the visas - event the Visitor one!!

All were 2 year versions as well in keeping with the primary Work Visa....

...so that may be the exception - no need for return tickets.......that was Jan 07. Man in uniform looked us up and down a bit but we got in fine and the ladies on the Air NZ desk were OK with extra pieces of luggage

Also we had a PR application ongoing when we arrived and that processed in four or five weeks once we were here.....

Good luck....

Thank you for sharing this one with me.
Looks like we need to apply for exactly the same visas like yours because we don't want to wait until our PR is done.
Did you send all those applications off together in one big envelope?
Would we have to send those visa applications to the same case officer who is dealing with our EOI/ITA?

I went down with the paperwork at the same time. We were delayed as a result of the blood lab stuffing up and failing to do one test so the medicals were delayed......for the 2 yr Visas we did need these though....just was a matter of having enough weeks to deal with it.

We did have everything together and in spite of it being Christmas (worst time for NZIS London) we were able to get the Visas issued in about 10 days so we could fly out early Jan - but even then did have to put flights back by a week....
