Re: The New Seekers
They do seem strangely attracted to New Zealand don't they, all those old dinosaurs still plugging away on the 'I need the bucks' tours.
I was just reading about the chaos at the Villa Maria 'Class of 81' concert yesterday.

...the place was filled with people in their 40s and 50s staggering around and trying to relive their youth. It wasn't pretty.

I dont think the current New Seekers contains any of the original band as we would know them. Its a bit like the current 'Drifters' who are still on tour, despite all the band members who sung on the records having died many years ago.
Eve Graham was the (quite) attractive dark haired singer who sang "Id like to teach the world to sing". What frightens me is that she is now pushing 70 years old. Scary.
The other girl who use to be in the band, Lyn Paul, is a mere 62.

The saddest thing I ever saw was Don Estelle still dressed up as 'Lofty' from "It Ain't Half Hot Mum", singing "Whispering Grass" to a backing tape in Burton-on-Trent Town Centre in about 2001. He died a couple of years later.
