New to Auckland
Hello out there,
My name is Esther,
I am a 31 year old nurse from Bristol. I moved to Auckland just over 6 weeks ago and am currently living in Remuera. I have a partner who is Kiwi, we are currently living with his parents until we find our own place. I am finding this whole experience interesting yet lonely at times, I didn’t quite anticipate what life would be like with my friends. I am not working as a nurse yet as I am waiting to get my registration so have plenty of time on my hands, as I am only working casually at the moment. I would love to find my own group of friends. So if anyone out there fancies meeting up for a laugh/beer/movie/food anything that involves fun message me,
Looking forward to meeting you,
Esther

Hi there and welcome to our small Nz forum.
Have a good browse around the site and perhaps make a post into meet-ups.

Hello and a big welcome to the New Zealand section of BE from the Consierges in Spain.
You will find excellent information in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
BE Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font. Also there are Consierges who can support and guide you.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
Rosemary

Re: New to Auckland
Hello Esther & to our NZ forums. Remuera is a nice part of Auckland to be. We are up on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula but have friends in Remuera.
Good luck with getting your nursing registration. Have you got a job sorted yet? Auckland City Hospital is a lovely hospital to work in (except Tamaki Ward! Medium-risk maternity ward). I would avoid North Shore hospital, place makes my skin crawl!)

Hi Esther and welcome to BE and Auckland.
I moved up here a few months ago from Rotorua but originally came over to NZ from Scotland in Aug '10.
I'm single, 38 and a midwife working down in Papakura but living in Mt Eden. My roster is a bit crazy up till xmas but I'd be happy to meet up sometime if you fancy.

Re: New to Auckland
Hi Esther, just arrived (at the weekend) myself with my daughter. My husband a kiwi arrived a few weeks ago to get things sorted, but I have arrived and although he has been working for friends, I feel not much else has been sorted out! So I feel a little the same as you, as we are staying with friends in Epsom and I am already feeling in need of some "space". I would love to try and catch up for a coffee, only thing, I would be bringing my 3 yr old along if you don't mind? (She is fun!!)
Let me know.
