hi ..we are trying to decide wether or not to rent or buy in nz when we get there ..we have some freinds that have offerd to sort a mortgage with a agent friend they have in nz so we can buy out there before we get there ..but we are thinking more along the lines of renting first ...does anyone know of any good sites or contacts offering accomadation for 2 months or so ...weve been on a few trademe and some estate agents etc and they seem to be full on rental properties all unfurnished 6-12 month contracts ..we are looking for fully furnished accomadation for a couple of months maximum in the auckland area preferable te atatu area ...any ideas anyone???

Try these holiday homes sites:

http://www.holidayhouses.co.nz/

http://www.bookabach.co.nz/

I used them both for furnished accommodation so can recommend.

You should be able to find an abundance of rentals available usually available straight away so don`t panick. My advice would be to book yourself into a motel or such for a couple of weeks and then have a good look around before commiting. All though it is supposed to be a buyers market at the moment, prices are definately dropping or ay worst leveling out so again , don`t panick buy.
Good luck
Ash

yep, Ash is right on both scores.....
not as many fully furnished available in Westie territory as up north (N Shore or HBC) use the rental sections of the normal real estate sites and look for furnished/holiday homes........when are you arriving?
I ask because there are far more furnished rentals and holiday homes available in the winter, especially around here. Best of luck.
