Default Napier

Hi Guys,
Long time no speak. Hope you're all good.
Our daughter is moving to Napier.
Could anyone in that area, or anyone who knows Napier, give us an idea of any nice areas to live in or for that matter to avoid?
Thanks in advance x

I haven't been for a while but I liked the area around the botanical gardens and the old prison. There were lots of older style character homes and villas.
Taradale looked quite nice too

I lived very close to the Botanical Gardens till a few months ago - Hospital Hill. Best area in Napier for me with Bluff Hill second.
Napier South used to be very pleasant but sadly crime rate has really gone up there recently. Ahuriri is the trendy suburb at the moment so very expensive with a lot of new apartments and townhouses. Raucous nightlife sometimes though good range of cafes and restaurants. Te Awa is becoming popular too.
Wouldn’t advise Maraenui or most of Marewa. Further out, parts of Taradale and Tamatea are nice though mainly new build.
