MORTGAGE CRITERIA FOR NEW PRs??

MORTGAGE CRITERIA FOR NEW PRs??
Am sitting at work dreaming of NZ, surfing real estate sites, can anyone help me with mortgage advice. Such as, how long do you have to be in the country to get a mortgage (or does PR give you the right to get one straightaway), do the banks usually give different rates for migrants, is a 20% deposit usually sufficient, and can you get a mortgage without a property in mind (given how many homes are bought through auction). All advice gratefully received!

They have been marvellous and we do all our personal and business banking with them as well as some social funds etc through work. We opened our account from the UK - transferred the money and when we got here we just had to go and pick up our cards and away we went.
