Meet up in Auckland
Hey all,
Having been here's for about 1 month and getting ourself sorted it would be great to meet up with some other expats going through the same things as us for some drinks or something. We are living in St Heliers, and while my wife has moved very close to her family, we are both missing our friends from the UK and want to meet more people here in NZ.
We live in St Heliers and have 2 young kids - luckily with family so close we have plenty of childcare. We are interested in lots of things, but both enjoy a drink and some socialising away from the kids!!
Let some know if anyone is interested in meeting up in and around Auckland.
As an aside, I am looking for a touch rugby team to join - any recommendations?
Cheers,
Adam
PS. Hope you all had a great Christmas and a happy new year to everybody.

We've been here about 9 months, live in Mission Bay and have recently met a couple in St Heliers who have similar interests. Have met for a few beers and meals so far in the area. Have been contemplating the whole Touch Rugby thing myself.
Drop us a line and let us know what you're plans are over the next few weeks and we can arrange a meet-up and even a kick about.

Anyone fancy a few beers after work on Friday. Location flexible - City, Mission Bay, St Heliers?
Clock off at about 5pm but not sure as yet whether I'm working from home or in CBD that day. Can't be a late one due to trip away on Saturday but thirsty for a few. Let us know and I'll see if I can rustle up a few others.

Craig,
Keen to meet up for a drink on Friday. For me Mission Bay or St Heliers would be better but can do the city. My wife is also keen to come out but this depends on childcare.
Did you get the PM I sent?

Lets keep it local then for this week. Likely to be after 5pm for me and happy to trundle down to St Heliers for a change if you want. Let me know what time etc suits you guys and I'll see who else is about. Like I said, will be a fairly civilised meet up for me this week as we have an early start the next day. Yep - got your PM but thought I'd keep this blog going at the moment just to see who else may bite.

This is open to anyone who wants to come along, so please do.
Craig - I will PM you my mobile number if there are any issues.

We're on for 5:30. My wife will be there at about 6 as she's coming from the CBD. Managed to grab another couple of people that we recently met to come along - they are the ones that also live in St Heliers.
Look forward to meeting you both.
Craig
Ps. Sent a PM to you with my mobile.

Hey kiwi babe, good to hear from you. We have met up with a couple of people who live in the area and would be good to meet more. We have 2 kids, and although younger than yours, it is good to meet others with kids too. If you want to meet up it might make sense to meet on a weekend aftenoon as week nights are always tougher with the kids? Let me know what you think. Adam.

Re: Meet up in Auckland
Hi Adam, Wendy, just thought I would see if you guys came up with any plans?! I haven't been on here a while, but it would be great to get out and meet a few new people in the area. We are coming up to almost a year in Auckland...life is staying busy as we have a second due in 3 months which will change things again I am sure!
If you are getting something together on a weekend afternoon then we are in Mount Wellington, so Mission Bay is close as is Howick etc. Always good to get out and about for a few beers (for me anyway!). We are around both weekends at the moment, so let me know if anyone else is keen.
