Re: Medicals ok
thats not a bad turnaround is it? (unless you meant october 2005!!)
we are still waiting for a case officer - and the medical man will need a stiff whisky when he sees our file

Re: Medicals ok
Well, let's start at the beginning. I'm Brit born and bred, hubby was born less than 5 miles from where we now live in the US. We want our daughter to grow up in an English-speaking country, so France, where we met, is out of the question. Hubby doesn't want to retire in the US. After many trips back to England, and having left it in early '92, I don't want to move back there now. Canada, to be honest, is too damn cold! LOL South Africa is somewhere that's never appealed to either of us. We couldn't get in to Oz now even if we wanted to, which we can't, as we're too ancient. Which leaves New Zealand.
But to be honest, that's not the way it happened. New Zealand was never just the only country that was left. It was a choice over Oz, for sure, regardless of immigration limits. And neither of us likes the culture in the US. I've *always* had a hankering to go to NZ more than almost any other country in the world, and when we started talking about not settling forever in the US, New Zealand came up over anywhere else.
Does that make sense? (probably not )
