Default Making the move - Teaching jobs

Hello everyone. New on the forum so looking for some current views.

Myself and husband are both UK qualified secondary teachers (Chemistry and Physics respectively) with over 12 years teaching experience in the UK and Middle East. I know secondary teachers are no longer on the shortage list, but I have read that Science teachers (especially physics and chemistry ) are still in demand.

Unfortunately, I don't think NZ will recognise our Middle East teaching experience so we lose out on points for the EOI (so we currently only get 120 points). I think we would need a job offer to get us selected from the pool. Do you think that schools are struggling to get Physics/Chemistry positions filled and are they recruiting overseas teachers?

Also looking at Oz as teaching is still on the shortage list.

TIA
