Just curious - how often do you get paid?

I get paid when I'm lucky.
Hubby says I'm lucky to have him, so I guess I get paid daily.

Monthly here too for me, same as UK. I don't understand re: straight into the bank though, what other way of being paid is there these days? the days of being paid in cash must be long gone.

Yes we are still trying to juggle that conundrum - at the moment have rent going out for 2 weeks when waiting to get paid so having to put UK money into the bank because we haven't got into a paying routine
ah well I am sure it will settle down
or I hope so at least!

Me: one job fortnightly and the other weekly. My previous job was every fortnight
Mr S: fortnightly
Always paid monthly in the UK but I do prefer the fortnightly payslip over here.
As for bills and joint expenditure: we have a joint account which we pay into once a month from our own accounts. We are pretty consistent with our outgoings so we just put the same in each time. Only rarely do we need to top it up mid month. I know it means we end up paying three lots of fees between us but we both prefer to keep our finances separate [though there is no secrecy between us!] I like to retain my financial independence

Oh for our bills account we just went with the BNZ total money account - $10 a month for up to 10 accounts. The interest isn't too bad and it allows direct payments and direct debits out of our 'savings' account.
