IT Jobs (Networking)

Anyone in the IT area in NZ? I am currently studying CCNA with Cisco Networking Academy program and was wondering how easy it will be to find employment on North Island. My wifes a nurse so entry requirements should not be a problem!

Hi

I am not in NZ but my cmpany trades there. The cisco networker market is pretty dynamic - many of our people have been headhunted to telecom NZ. Especially in the voip/IPCC/IPC area around cisco technologies. IBM has a big network business in NZ, Telecom NZ does too (at least).

good luck - be worth checking out www.ibm.com.nz for their jobs page online, nd look at telecom nz websitefor same thing.

Hiya, not sure about where most Cisco jobs are, but for the area I'm in, 80% of the jobs are in Wellington as all the big government offices and bank headquarters are there. Here is a group of people that should be able to help out, too.

Oh, and I'm sending you a PM about one certain employer. ;)

Been here 6 years and I found my first job within weeks. Second job within months. depends...

The best thing to do is get the yellow pages and phone them one by one. Thats how I have organised my next job.

Also, it's not what you know, but who you know, so networking is key. A friend got me one of my jobs.
