ITA in!
We have no job offer. NZ immigration Say its at least 3 months until an officer will pick up our file without a job offer. Have others been in this position and if so how long did they wait for the go ahead?

Cannot really advise on your query - but well done for getting this far

Re: ITA in!
Are you saying that you've had the meds and Police checks etc and sent the application in and they can't give you a CO for 3 months?
We waited 3 months for the ITA to be sent so I hope we don't have another 3 months wait after we send our application in! I was told it could be a 2 month wait though. I was hoping to do a reccie to NZ at Easter to validate visas but can't see that happening now
We are having meds done 5 jan then will send our paperwork off.

Evening, we did not have any job offers and our ITA was submitted in Feb this year (8th), we were told we had been provisionally granted our PR visa at the beginning of June. A letter of confirmation came at beginning of July. As we where in NZ at the time we had to send our passports off for the blue stickers when we got home. Hope this gives you some idea of time scale.

We submitted EOI in August so we're talking 10 months total.
Fortunately we can't move before June cos daughter is taking A levels, but I had hoped to do a reccie/validate visa...oh bother!

Hi Andy and Georgina
We were selected from the pool in Mid July and I think we had somewhere between 120-140 points. But I dont think it really matters how many points you have once you have been selected. You just need enough to be selected then you are in the queue. I think the only thing that gets you in faster is a job offer.

Re: ITA in!
This past June it took only three weeks for our ITA to be processed. It would have taken less than a week but there was some thing on my wife's medical report that had to be cleared by the NZIS quack first and that takes a minimum of three weeks.
Of course our circumstances might be different to overseas applicants as we already are domociled here in Christchurch and we are both locally employed.
As a side note, I found the Christchurch office of NZIS to be efficient and friendly, at least that was my experience. YMMV.
