IRD return
Hello,
Both my partner and I are self employed workers in NZ so we have to complete the IR3 (self ass) form to claim any tax back. We both have high expenses so are due around $12k back in overpaid tax. i was told by the IRD today that the IR3 wont be on the website until 11 may and that it takes 10 weeks to get a refund. That means mid July i will get back my overpaid tax from last Financial year. This seems a little unfair and late.
can i have any thoughts on if you think this is correct.

Rang IRD, the paper one is there but takes longer to process through there system, the online IR3 opens on 12th may, both options means you have to wait 10 weeks and the man said to be honest your better off waiting as the back log of paper ones probably wont get seen before 12th may,,, so there you go
