Im a fatty! visa medical question.
ok so....
my husband has an offer with accredited employer in NZ. He is going out in August. im hopeing to go out this side of christmas.
iv done medicals, police checks ect....... all sorted to be sent off.
Now my bmi on my medical is 38 im 6ft 1. I have a toddler and a baby so thats my excuse
iv heard that anything over 35 warrants a medical referral. and id need to get it under 35. in the last month iv lost 14lb. and will continue.
will they charge for MA?
will it def be refused until i can prove iv lost the weight?
i understand medicals are valid for 3 months. so mine exp 16th july.
if i submit them before(hopeing to send off next week) how long will they be valid for?
Thanks for reading. x

I have seen others with BMI's over the allotted amount have problems. will see if I can find the thread. The 3mths timeline is from having them done to submitting them, they can't expect to make you do them again if they take longer than 3mths to go through your application. It would probably get referred and they may ask for further information but as you say you have just had a baby so they might just tick it off but you never know and it is all down to whoever does the application.

I had this exact situation. 3 years ago. My original medical at the Nuffield hospital was referred because of my bmi. Our immigration officer was happy for me to be checked at my own gp surgery to varify my weight loss. The letter cost a few quid, but it all worked out well.

My OH had the same BMI as you, but all his tests - blood sugar, cholesterol etc were normal. So, they had him repeat the tests which were normal again, so PR visa granted! And we're here! It's health rather than weight that they're concerned about, the weight is often an indicator of bad health, so they double check I guess. But they don't say no just because you're overweight, or at least they didn't in our case.
