I'm indifferent as to whether IKEA come here or not. They have great meatballs, and some of their other products are good. But as a shopping experience they are yuk! And every IKEA I have visited has created a traffic nightmare.
I'd rather Mitre 10 or somebody else local got properly into flatpack furniture (and meatballs)!
I'm also a big fan of rimu (whole house is made of it) which is as light or dark as you want it to be.

Freedom Furniture are far too expensive and you can't get anything like the range of Ikea. You also can't get much of that lovely pale birch here in NZ. The dark wood seems to be more popular.
