Failing that, um... anywhere the European Commission hangs out. Definitely a good idea to know at least French and German as well, though.

After we come back in January from NZ I think we are also going to look at France a little more closely.
My folks have a place near Le Touquet in the north and its nice but the weather is crap. Same as Portsmouth
However I do like the country and it just might be for us. Family can pop over whenever, mortgage/debt free, reasonable weather in the South ect.
The problem is neither of us speak French and we wont have any jobs so what can we do?
Found THIS the other day and looks kind of nice. Could alway do the usual Brit abroad and turn it into a B&B and Gite thingy.
More thinking I need to do. Yes

OMG this is torture, I love Holland as you know and always regard is as my fave place and miss it like mad..but with eldest staying in NZ until he is 20+ going to uni, OZ seems more practical.
