We stopped at 18. Apparently, that has been a major cause of the latest ructions. I'm confused. We send the kids 20 pounds at xmas, and 30 pounds for birthdays. We sent a very special piece of jewellery for the niece's 18th. Haven't ever received a xmas card, birthday card, email or phone call from them. Not even a card for our daughter's 5th birthday.
as to why this has all blown up since you mentioned your daughter's 5th birthday. As I mentioned in a previous post my sister has more or less told me to stop it with the birthday presents, except between her and me. Sounds like a sop in my direction, doesn't it ?
However, my husband is glad of the decision I have made regarding this. The look on his face said, 'at last !' I actually showed him your post on this topic. He grinned and said, 'that's right.'
