How quickly did it all happen?
Just curious as to the speed at which your emigration happened. I've done it before and remembered how manic it was. Going through it again and it still feels crazily fast.
So how long from the moment you got your visas did it take you to get out to New Zealand?
Also how long was it over all from the moment you decided you wanted to go?

I've noticed some of those timelines. They're very helpful. :-)

Took us 3 years altogether but a few weeks from receiving the green light from Immigration.

Had a job offer in June, didn't get the visa until October
Stupidly went with a agent, sacked them after fannying around and went with my companies agent. Visa forms done and dusted within 2 weeks
On the positive side, I missed Junes Sumner rumble

Sent in my EOI in December, selected immediately.
ITA in May - hmmmm, 2days after NZIS received my complaint letter
Visa interview and residency by June.
Visited NZ in August, found job, long story as to why I didn't stay!
Moved December that year.
So a year from EOI > emigrating but my visa was done and dusted in 7months

Job offer at the end of may 2012. EOI a week later. Selected 3 days later. Visas in passports in mid August and landed in NZ 28 Aug 2012. It was pretty mental but we managed and we are happy here.
We talked about it and investigated for 2-3years and sorted all our quailifications out first.

Thanks so much for all the replies it's been interesting to hear how varied your experiences have been. We thought we were all set to go but there has been a glitch with our sons medical. They're unclear about an element of it do have requested a doctors letter to explain it. That's for another thread!
So in short not feeling as speedy as it was before!!

...that was for a fairly straight forward issue and with a doctor who's just damn amazing! They wanted clarification on a possible heart thang which just wasn't there any more.
Oh - and the radiographer forgot to sign *one* of the many forms, leaving us about a week behind schedule also
Also; another timeline for you!

We had a hitch with my medical too. Managed to ring my doctors after the first medical visit on the Tuesday; ask Dr to write a note. Picked it up on the Friday and went back for the X-rays on the Saturday, and handed the note in.

Re: How quickly did it all happen?
It's quite helpful to others looking in when people put their timelines into their Be signatures.
I remember your story BarnsleyMatt. Nothing was going to hold you back.
Our timeline would be ten years old now.
We did a reccie Feb 2004 having been here before
Himself had several job offers .
Sorting trade quals was a nightmare back then as the powers that be did not know their ar@e from their elbows and gave several stressful bad bum steers. That lot have cleaned up their act bigtime since then.
Finally he & 2 puss cats returned to NZ end May 2004 time to start work under a temp work visa.
I arrived beg Aug 2004
Applied for PR right on the cusp of NZIS changes. Aug 2004
Gained NZ PR Oct 2004.
