How long does it take to settle.

How long does it take to settle.
Hi Guys,
Don't think I have ever posted on this site before. Anyway, I have been in Tauranga for 15months now and here with my family, husband, daughter 22 and son 19. Although I love it I am missing family and friendship back in the UK. People have said to join groups and stuff, I work 30+ hours so this is slightly difficult. Cut a long story short, if there is anyone who is in a similar situation who would like to meet up in Tauranga just let me know. I do appreciate I need to get out there and do stuff, but I just don't know where to start. I am in my mid 40's and I love english football, enjoy most sports except for golf and cricket. Like going out for meals and the cinema. I would like to start walking as I am unfit and can't do anything to physical. If anyone can help with any info that would be great. I was thinking of joining a church, but which one? I sound like a right moaning so and so, I am not normally but the last few months have been hard and I know if I had some social stuff going on it would become alot easier living in this wonderful place.

Hey corbieken, just to say Hi and welcome to BE. There's a great bunch of folks on the NZ forum so do start having a browse through the threads. Might find a few people in your area. All the best

Re: How long does it take to settle.
Hello corbieken and another warm welcome from me.
We have quite a large expat social group over this side in Papamoa/Mount and you would be more than welcome to join us when we next have a meet up.
We are looking at organising something to coincide with another newbies thread in the meet ups section, after the RWC. Most socialising at the moment is done around that which is a bit noisy!!
I'll have a think and see if I can organise an evening in Rain or a beach meet up or walk round the Mount.
