No jobs in Invercargill? So no-one in Invercargill works? Ridiculous.

No, what's truly ridiculous is twisting my words and then trying to refute an argument you've concocted out of thin air, misrepresenting it and attributing it to me. It's called using a strawman argument and is one of the oldest, laziest forms of trollery.

Seems you might think I was born yesterday. Better luck next time, kiddo.

If I was looking to buy a first home I would be looking at One Tree Point where you can buy new 3-4 bedroom new homes for between $400,00 - $450,00.

Ruakaka/OTP/Marsden Point is the area expected to grow with the fast broad band coming in through Marsden Point.

The area is situation on the entrance to the Whangarei harbour with great beaches and a 25 minute drive south of Whangarei.

John Key lives in a 'mansion' in Parnell, must be worth at least $10 million by now.

His office is in Kumeu, which is a highly popular area for people to commute into Auckland from.

That's a good property and its great if you can get work in the Rei. Sadly, it doesn't solve the issue for people in Auckland though!

If you emigrate for a better work/life balance or a better quality of life there is no point what so ever of commuting for hours on end each day.

I wasn't suggesting commuting from Auckland to OTP for work.

I agree. As a general point. A longer commute to work anywhere in NZ would undermine the reasons for coming.

Not sure that a commute from Matuara to Auckland is going to work either. You'd soon get sick of that.
