horses, skiing, and camping!
Hello there.
I have posted on the immigration pages, but have not properly introduced us.
we are simon and anna (me) with 2 great kids, (obviously) 9 & 2 yrs old.
i spent 4 months in NZ when i was 18, (quite a few years ago) and have always wanted to go back, preferably to stay!
we are going over next may for a month in a campervan. not sure just how mad we are? and if my OH likes NZ then we are going to submit the EOI, we currently have 150 pts, and hope that wont change by then........
our plans are to run a horse livery business, i am really into horses and dont know anything else! so seems like a good idea to make a go of it,
we currently run a heating & plumbing business, but are not qualified according to the PGDB, so cant continue with that.
we also plan to run a camping and caravan site along with the horses.
does anyone have any advice on these topics? any do's or definitely don'ts????
we dont really mind where we end up, but have heard that the north is warmer. i was in the canterbury plains in winter, and was quite cold...
where are the horsey places? i know most horses spend life turned out most of the year, are there many 'posh' livery yards?
we are new to all this and any help would be most appreciated.
thanks a lot!
Anna

Kia Ora and welcome to the NZ forum
Try a thread into the main forum about the horse stuff. I know we have a few posters that are well into their horses.

Re: horses, skiing, and camping!
Great plans. And very possible, I'd say.
Some friends have just arrived (8months) and they now have a 70 acre plot with a dozen horses, four or five tents and a medieval village.
They don't ski, but they will soon.
Very good luck, and have fun.
