Default Holiday accommodation in Auckland

Hi there

We are looking to come over to New Zealand for a couple of weeks next February. We will be flying into Auckland (as we have free return flights from Brisbane) and would like to stay in a little beach shack.

While we are there we want to go white water rafting/ visit the reef/ go wine tasting etc but we dont really know that much about the area so any info re accomm...things to do etc would be gratefully received. I have looked on the web but I always find it is better to talk to people with first hand experience.

It will be our 1st wedding anniversary while we are there

Thanks

Sharon

Hi Sharon,

Can't help with the accommodation. We stayed at the Hilton Hotel when we arrived in NZ, not really a shack . There's wine tasting in the Kumeu area (west Auckland) or you could head 50mins north of Auckland to Matakana. As you're hear for a couple of weeks, you could head to Hawkes Bay for some more serious wine tasting.

Sorry I can't help you more specifically but I'm sure others will. Just wanted to bump you up as you were slipping down the page.

Love Annie x

Hi try these
www.viewauckland.co.nz www.rentabach.co.nz www.canyonz.co.nz www.awoladventures.co.nz www.waiwera.co.nz.
Also when you arrive pick up the free Auckland A-Z at the airport or any tourist info and has info on Auckland and coupons.
If you have time The waitamo caves are a good visit to see the glow worms.

We did that when we came with the chidren for a rece its a useful way to get around and the holiday parks are good and reasonable to park up for the night but dont park accross the parking bays as you will get fined as as some guys we met in Taupo found out the hard way. Also dont park under a tree as when it rains you get double the drops on the roof!
