Re: HENDERSON
I live in Henderson, it's not a bad area. Gets a fair bit of stick like a lot of West Auckland does, it's mainly the snob brigade dragging it down as it doesn't have an over priced poncy coffee shop on every corner, who cares, fish n chips are $5!
I know nothing about the schools so I can't help although the schools do look pretty good.
One great thing about Henderson is the train line, I use the trains everyday and it's so much quicker, cheaper and easier than driving to work. They're doing a huge amount of work to electrify the line so by next year the trains will be even better.
There's loads shops and a decent mall, plus dotted about there's plenty of shops, bakeries, green grocers that are way cheaper than places closer to town.
We've found it to be a pretty down to earth area, it's not full of ten bob millionaires like some areas in Auckland are, it's more of an honest working class area. But because it's in Waitakere there's not much nightlife, but because it's on the train line going for a night out in Kingsland, Mt Eden etc is very easy.

Re: HENDERSON
For the price of a tiny glass of beer in one of Kingslands many yuppee wannabe bars in Henderson you can get one of these:
2 x Fish n Chips
2 x Pizzas from Dominos
10 loafs of fresh bread
Basket of fruit
6 hot pies
Maybe they should put this on the side of the buses to attract visitors.
