Re: Gulf Harbour - Your thoughts please
Just noticed the ages of the kids you'r bringing over. Bear in mind Gulf Harbour is a long way away from the main Auckland areas.
As they get a bit older you'll find yourself carting them a fair distance as from experience busses and ferrys are few and far between and the journeys are a nightmare.

Thanks very much for all your info and opinions.
We shall arrive in Auckland on 19 April and will be staying with my cousin for first few weeks in Massey. Fingers crossed we get a rental in the area we like!!! It looks like they are snatched up quite quickly!
Auckland here we come!
Cheers

Interesting thread... we're looking at Red Beach type area... I'll be working at Auckland City Hospital and will be using my motorcycle for commuting, or using the ferry... definitely not driving

Hi Claire,
We moved to Gulf Harbour in September last year and really love the area. My children go to Whangaparaoa College and catch the school bus to and from their school every day. My smallest attends the preschool next to Gulf Harbour School. It's a little expensive but really worth the money.
A lot of people tend to settle more towards Orewa if they don't like the travel along the Peninsula but to be honest the 15 minute drive does not phase us as you never get sick of the scenery!
We bought our home and if the property is within a certain age bracket the bank will ask you for an extensive building report with moisture testing anyway. As you are renting there are plenty to chose from nearer the mariner i expect.
There are lots of preschool activities as well as I take my preschooler to Mainly Music sessions which she loves.
PM me if you need any more info I'll be more than pleased to help and perhaps we can catch up for a cuppa once you're in and settled!
Good luck. x
