It's frustrating!

I have emailed enquiries about several jobs; job descriptions/salaries etc but have never had replies!

It does annoy me!!!

Have you tried ringing them and saying "I sent you a CV yesterday, just wondered when we could set up an interview"?

I did that from the UK in the weeks before I emigrated and had 3 interviews arranged for when I arrived.

Its indicative of the market - so many people are looking, why would an employer make their life difficult by looking at someone from over seas ??? Buzzy bee has the right suggestion - keep hassling people via the phone until someone listens.

Thanks.
Are you applying speculatively asking if there are any jobs or are you applying for actual advertised positions? If speculative I suggest you get hold of a named member of staff, rather than send to one of those global and anonymous inboxes like: [email protected] or [email protected]

Request a read receipt and follow up.

I don't know if it makes difference, but are you using a .uk email address? Maybe they think it is just a speculative email from a would-be immigrant with no work permit yet. I found I got a better response when I had a .nz email address. I used Topmail.co.nz which is free web based email, but I haven't managed to get Thunderbird to allow me to send mail. Otherwise Google for free NZ email. I'm sure you'll find one.

Hope it helps.

Is it the NZ DHB's that are not responding to you at all ? I take it your NZ nursing registration has come through.
DHB's are accredited employers and should know it's a job offer first and then a work visa.

In case people aren't aware, you can get a hotmail.co.nz account now.
