Furniture Stores Auckland
Will need to buy a king bed and dinning room table and chairs pretty much as soon as I arrive i.e. next week! Can someone recommend where to shop - not after cheap but not Philippe Starck either! Something in between would be good - contemporary furniture please - I am not into 'traditional'
Once again many thanks

I was looking at furniture a while back. The best range I found which was not cheap quality (or price) was Harvey Norman. Plenty of the them around too:

There are probably better niche stores which you might prefer, but this at least has a range and is better quality than many of the other stores IMO. You may be able to negotiate a discount, especially if you are buying several items. Worth a try.

Hi try this place - I would order on line in advance as they might not have it in stock when you arrive.

I see from previous posts you were looking at Birkenhead; suggest you head over to Link Drive / Wairau Valley where there is representation from every major furniture store and some

ETA: Farmers are alright for beds too but not sure which branch would be nearest to you. They don't all have furniture.

Yes, Nood. There is a store near the Bunnings Warehouse on Constellation Drive, but I've not been in personally. The ones in town are good though.
Also, don't be afraid to at least research furniture online. We have sometimes found really unusual stuff online - for example a solid macrocarpa side table, and even a 100-yr old kauri sideboard - all for under a hundred dollars for example. Also, if you're lucky (as we were once or twice) you'll stumble across someone really posh who is 'redecorating' and selling off really quality gear for a song.
