Foreign fee-paying (FFP) students in New Zealand ? How much?

Does anyone know how much the charges are for primary school students since,
as far as I know, those with no residency status (in our case that would be
LTBV category) are not entitled to free public education.

FYI, there are a lot of statistics and other info on this subject at
http://www.minedu.govt.nz/index.cfm?...=5925#P70_3307
, but no fees.

Thanks for any info!

Rob

Hi Rob,

I'm certain you don't have to pay foreign fees on the LTBV.....but I can't back it up at the moment! I'll have a look later, there may have been a thread on here about it, think Jamie (business planners) mentioned it somewhere.

Rob,
I found this, hope it helps!

The Three Year Work Visa/Permit

Successful applicants under the LTBV will be issued initially with a multiple entry, nine month work visa which enables the principal applicant who holds that multiple entry visa to come and go in and out of New Zealand during that nine month period as often as he/she wishes without any restriction and, whilst in New Zealand, undertake work which is connected with that principal applicant’s establishment of his/her proposed New Zealand business.

Further permits and visas may be granted for the blaance of the three year period if a Business Immigration Specialist is satisfied that reasonable steps have been taken to establish and operate the proposed business and that the money required to establish the business has been transferred to New Zealand.

The LTBV will provide that the principal applicant can work as "self employed", anywhere in New Zealand and for his/her "own business". In addition, the LTBV granted to a successful principal applicant will have the specific conditions attached to it that neither the principal applicant nor any of his/her dependent family members will draw on the New Zealand welfare system during the length of the LTBV. Drawing on the welfare system may lead to revocation of the LTBV.

The principal applicant's spouse and dependent children will be issued with matching multiple entry visas to that of the principal applicant, i.e. generally a three year multiple entry "open" work visa for the principal applicant's spouse (which enables the principal applicant's spouse to undertake any type of work in New Zealand) and multiple entry student visas for dependent children of the principal applicant. Those dependent children of the principal applicant who receive student permits for studying in New Zealand will be entitled to pay school fees at domestic student rates, and not at international student rates.

_____________________

Also:

Successful applicants will be issued Work Visas for 3 years to enable them to research and undertake their planned business. The applicant’s spouse will receive a 3 year open Work Visa and dependent children (i.e. <20 years) will receive Visitor Visas or Student Visas for the same period. Dependent children of Work Visa holders are not required to pay international student tuition fees up until completion of secondary schooling. However they are required to pay international student fees to study at tertiary institutions.
