Lucky you, our flights were full last year, and looking at the seat maps for when we fly in 4 1/2 weeks, they are looking quite full too

We fly back 14/1 so we might not be as lucky this time.

You have to pay to reserve your seats now on Emirates, which is a bit of a liberty when you're already spending over a grand on the flights! £20 per leg per person too, so an extra £160 for a couple to reserve your seats.

What if you've only got one leg?

Wife has just returned via Emirates - Late taking off from Heathrow, late out of Dubai, 90 mins late into Auckland. Food average, plane packed. The stopover in Brisbane wasn't shown when booking. Paying for seat reservations is very Ryanair.

Back to Singapore Airlines next time.

I'll be looking elsewhere next year when we book our flights back. Fortunately, we booked our seats for this years flight back in March so didn't have to pay. I might look at Singapore next time for a different route, and to avoid the dreaded 14 hours from Dubai to Brisbane / Melbourne.
