Re: Feeling a bit sorry for myself
This migration lark is really taking its toll on me now!
I'm exhausting every avenue (jobs) but not coming up with anything Although I'm ecstatic that people are getting their visa's and finally going, I can't help the green eyed monster coming up and I just want it to be us I've never had any patience - but we've been researching NZ for quite a while now and decided to go for it in Oct! That was 6 months ago and still no nearer to getting to our dream - ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
Sorry!
Edited to say: Please tell me this is normal ?! If it's not, I'm off to hide!

Do you want to join Mandie H's and my pity party? Come on, lets all eat chocolate and drink wine till we pass out! I think what you're expressing is totally normal, if immigration was easy, everyone would be doing it! And your'll finally get over here and find you feel similiar again. Its testing, that's for sure, but your'll get there. Chin up and muster on old buddy. I'm afraid I can't do a little dance for you because of the ribs, so how about I quietly sing, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,'
I've got a glass of wine already but no choc - unless a Penguin counts ?? I have some of those in my tin !! It's all balls ... very draining thats for sure! Thanks for making me smile though - least I'm not self-pitying all by my lonesome

Just PM me with 'kick me up the arse' when you feel down and I'll send you lots of Tony Robinson style motivation talk! ( only with more swearing!). Stay positive, it WILL happen, how do I know? Because of all the people on here that post that they made it! Is there anything I can do from here? Look at jobs for you in papers, etc?

what jobs are you and hubby looking for? We gave up trying ourselves and went through an agent as we just got no response over and over again. But bear in mind it is Autumn over here and for some reason there are less jobs around during Autumn and Winter but stay cheerful you will get a job and get over here eventually.

Is this the stage you are at Michelle and Carl? How long have you been job hunting? Have you been over for interviews?
Sorry, loads of questions Getting a bit manic - should be in bed but too much going on in head This bloody immigration lark is not exactly a bundle of laughs is it?!

Hi Philo1 - do you mind me asking who your agent was that you got the job through? We've just found out that we only now have 105 points and cant see us getting in to NZ without a job offer now.

Some agencies put you on their books but don't charge you...we tried about 5of them, problem is they charge the employer so got nowhere, in fact never took our names off, kept same email and still haven't had any job offers from them to date and been in NZ nearly a Year now!
But as a few others have said, don't give up on it, if we had to we would of come over for a holiday and knocked on every business going until we got an offer. You will get there, I know it seems like it takes forever but keep trying.
