EWRB Statutory Declaration

I have searched through all of the past thread and posts relating to this with no real joy.

I have been a self employed electrician for 10 years and the EWRB would like to see a "correctly instituted statutory declaration". There is a format they have asked for relating on the work experience I have which is not the problem as I have drafted a letter for this.

I have emailed them to ask what they require but have had no response.

Is there a standard declaration form? Does it need to be counter signed by a solicitor, etc?

Would be great to hear from a fellow self employed trades person.

Re: EWRB Statutory Declaration

I'll ping someone that went through the process. If they are about and not out enjoying the sunshine or hard working , they may pop along.

A Statutory Declaration is one where papers are authenticated by a Justice of the Peace or a Notary. Notarys are usually a bit cheaper and easier to get hold of in the UK unless you happen to have a JoP close by.

Please read this old post.

Hi there
I'm going through the process with the EWRB and it can be frustrating. They state they want signed references from employers in the UK to cover 4 years work experience. Emailed references from company accounts are not acceptable. However, you can submit a statutory declaration of your experience which needs to be signed by a Justice of the Peace. As Keith states, you will need to provide copies of all UK qualifications (these also need to be signed by a Justice of the Peace). They will then make a decision to offer a Limited Certificate. I am at this stage. To get registered I will need to complete the NZ Regulations and Stage 3 practical exam. I believe all overseas Electricians have to do this. Exams are run in June and November.
