When my Mum was obviously not going to be around much longer, I made the decision to take the family back for a visit whilst she was still at home. It was our first and only trip back to the UK as a family since we moved to NZ. I then had to make it known that i wouldn't be coming back for the 'end' (and funeral), so it was going to be goodbye for us. Was pretty tough going. And even then it wasn't great to reiterate that I wouldn't be back when the funeral came a year ago.
