Dogs - pics and dog stories
This might go nowhere BUT here goes
We have four dogs here , used to be five but one went to dog heaven recently, and I am really into training, obedience and agility stuff. Our dogs aren't really great at either, but I'm having a go. There was little opportunity in the UK for agility training, and I'm loving the chance to try it here with my collie. One of our GSDs is going to a specialist trainer in ChCh to calm her down so that she can do agility too as she is really smart and great with the limited equipment we have at home and rubbish in public
For me this has been a real chance to do something I love, i.e. have lots of dogs and train them properly, that time and space did not permit for us in the UK. We brought three dogs out with us, but when I look at their quality of life and space now, compare to back then, there is no competition.
I'll start with a piccie. Yes, they're spoilt sometimes, sleeping on the settees

Re: Dogs
Sorry to hear about the loss of one of your dogs
They really do work their way into your life and leave a big hole.
Love the picture though, I'd like to have a living room that looks similar but having a dog with our circumstances as they stand would be impossible. I live vicariously through others
I had a black lab for many years, he was an unwanted cripple as I liked to call him He was lovely.
Trying to get him to do agility would have been a disaster. I can see him now looking at me and going 'you expect me to jump over that when I can just walk round it? Can't I just chase after my ball over and over again, that's what I call fun!'

Re: Dogs
More importantly, you have a tile floor in the sitting room? How is that working out for you?

Unless it's a new type of dog?
Catchafire - tiles are great when you have 4 dogs. Love it.

Our two GSD girlies. The black one is a UK dog and the black/gold is the NZ puppy that has fear/aggression issues, but together with the great trainer at the South Island German Shepherd League in ChCh, we are making good progress.
