Default Dehumidifiers

Ok, so have established that I probably need one, but don't want to spend a fortune, anyone any suggestions on where to go and what to or what not to buy??? There is one in The Warehouse for $160 which looks cheap as (bro!)...

We have two that we bought at the Warehouse 3 years ago - and still going strong One of them was about $160 and the other is a bigger one - I think it was around $300. They're pretty basic but do exactly what it says on the tin

Cash Converters on 40 Cuba Street, there's a second hand Mithsubish Dehumidifier $340 ish - pretty good one (the same model but new one $980 at Harvey Norman)- It's far/much much better than the Warehouse rubbish.

Wahoo i knew Consumer had something about dehumidifiers

http://www.consumer.org.nz/topic.asp...=Dehumidifiers

Unfortunately, their checklist is available free but you need to pay to either join ($25) or receive the report ($9.95).

It is a not for profit and i really should not suggest this, but, you *could* find someone who is a member and sign up under their name.....

Thanks guys, had a wander round Porirua at lunchtime and ended up buying one in Placemakers with my Fletcher staff discount on the way home, less than $200 so I am happy now, hope it works!!!

I have six, all second hand and WITHOUT a doubt the best are Mitsubishi, I have 2, a large and a small one they are by far the best for water removed during the night. Consider Genesis electric for cheap leccy 11pm-7am..its more than half price during this period. I have 'cheapie' dehumids....they do not work aswell as the Mitsubishis. You get what you pay for..cheapie new about $200, New mitsi Oasis about $1000..2nd hand $300.
