Cyclist seeking advice....
Hi all, newbie here!
I'm interested to hear from anyone in NZ holding UK class C+E license. I'm an avid cyclist and am thinking about touring NZ and then looking for some work with a view to staying for a while.
My questions are -
1. Am I correct that my C+E UK license is equivalent to NZ class 5?
2. What is the current job market for drivers like?
3. Should I contact potential employers now or is it best to do this once in country bearing in mind I will be there on a tourist visa (I'm assuming I can speak to potential employers before applying for the correct permits etc once I have an offer of employment)?
Thanks for any advice you can share.
Regards
Mark

It,s been a while since I drove in the UK so am assuming all this c of e gubbins is a class one ?
If so yes you can swap it for a NZ class 5 you will need to do a medical and a touch screen test both of which are a piece of piss, There is plenty of work out there but most of it is truck and dog trailer and they take a bit of getting used to, I will try and find a piccy of mine so you see what I mean.
Some pay good money, some dont !

Hi Neil,
Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Unfortunately I can't see the pictures, maybe because I'm using iPad?
Anyway, yes C+E is the old class 1 artic. I'm assuming it's wagon and drag you are mentioning.....
Do you know of any agencies that I could contact ahead of time to gauge interest? I have no solid plans as yet but it would help me plan a bit more if I had some prior contact. No worries if not, I don't want to bust your balls
Cheers
