Vast swathes of South Auckland.

But my personal favorite, Wairoa. I actually locked the doors of my ute when driving through the High St.

Highbury in Palmy. Horrid. But not as bad as some in South Auckland so I hear.

Yeah, but they're not silly, they do their robbing out of the area where there are richer pickings.

Otara, papatoetoe, mangere, manurewa, all great areas for accidentally losing things that are not
bolted down with anchor chains, they'll even take you wheels off your car if you wait at the light to long

Stopped off in Manurewa in my motorhome a few years back. Popped into the local cop shop to ask where it would be safe to park up, and sleep in it overnight, and was told to park literally right outside the cop shop, as it was the only place they thought it would be safe
Travelled right round both islands twice in the motorhome, and only found a few places that were a bit iffy. Wellsford, and Tauranga (surprisingly).

Though I think there are pockets of affluence in Manurewa and Mangere believe it or not.

Waitara, Hawera & Rotorua (where in the 5 mins it took me to check in to my hotel some scumbag wrecked my door trying to get in to nick the kids DVD player. They had obviously been waiting in the car park for new arrivals).
