Contents Insurance
We will be moving into a holiday appartment and then a rental and therefore will need some contents insurance, just in case we are broken into or there is a fire etc (I know ever the optimist )
Can anyone recommend a company that covers this?
Thanks

Re: Contents Insurance
We have just had a really good quote for car and Contents(& tenant) insurance from State.
Just make sure your contents covers the tenant aspect - as you tend to be liable if you are found to be at fault in a house fire/electrical fire etc etc etc....

Re: Contents Insurance
another vote for state - minimum sum insured for contents in $20k as far as I recall, then you can increase the cover for not a massive amount more.
Agreed that you should make sure that there is liability cover as Insurers of Landlords love suing tenants for leaving pots on the stove, etc......

Re: Contents Insurance
Went up the Port Hills in the snow and got loads of tiny wee scratches on the sills and bottom of the doors from the grit. Quoted $1800 + GST to get both sides resprayed, as nothing else could be done. AMI said its OK you're covered so we'll pay - I just pay the excess - pretty dang good I reckon.
