I have previously lived on the HBC and i found it way to far out from the city. This is reflected with the large amount of older people up there. I do have mates who stuck it out up there.

Socially sports clubs are the best way to go about meeting new people your ages. NZ fortunately has a massive social sports scene and it really can help. Really any sort of social club will get you started, just go with one that entails something you like.

Otherwise get down to the city! If you avoid the just turned 18 joints you will meet a load of people! Just be confident!

I struggled a bit when I moved to the HBC but because i have kids I made friends quickly. We have lots of bbqs/drinks instead of hitting the pubs - Tho I am a massive fan of pubs when I can!! I wont be having a girls night out for a while as i'm pregnant but your more than welcome to join us when I do!
