Checking it out!
Hey guys,
Husband in IT - looking to relocate to NZ, have found most IT jobs in Auckland or Wellington. Can you suggest in a three week hol where to start our search, one whic is best suited away from trouble, but near villages or such. Dont mind the commute into work but do need schools, lad with special needs. Just dont know where to start.
We live in rural Dorset at present so looking for similar.
ARGH - Help- I know you expats are full of help as we have been reading.

I've been told that palmerston north is good and they had several adverts yesterday.

How far are you willing to commute?
Pukekohe, Papakura are relatively rural and about 45 mins/ 1 hr to auckland. titirangi feels "bush", but really part of the city. Areas around howick can feel rural too.
in Wellington you could investigate the Kapiti coast, again a 45 mins / 1 hour commute outside wellington.
cant say about schools though
auckland and Wellington deffo the best two places to target job wise
