Default Buying a Maui camper in CHCH?

Hi Folks,

Been looking for a camper and the VW LT35 long wheel base vesion as sold by Maui on Moorhouse looks like my only option (want both rear/side opening and a lowish/2004 version). Has anyone here bought one of them? Are the Maui boys OK to deal with? Doesn't seem to be much room for haggling when I last visited them back in early Nov.

Nath.

Sorry, can't help.
However, could you not just buy a van and put in what you want? My mate in Oz has a divan bed in hers, far more comfy than sleeping on a dropped down table!

I'm afraid I don't have the skills, time or patience to fit one out myself. Since I want to be able to stand up in one, it has to be quite a tall van. Also, I'd like to be able to park up, sit down inside and admire the views on those rainy days or early morning/late nights. From what I've seen most vans don't have windows. Minibuses do so I did toy with the idea of buying one of those and converting it. However, only in NZ for a year or two so don't want a year-long proj to 'make my own'. Thanks for the suggestion though... I may have to venture down that route if nothing suitable turns up.
